STRIKE....while the iron is hot!

If there was ever a 'good' time to commit fraud or crime in general, it would have been over the last 2-3 weeks in South Africa.

When your eye is off the ball, things tend to go pear-shape; 'normal' people become violent or enethical; the moral vs ethical decision is not considered e.g. people striking while patients die....I could go on and on here.

Fraud happens and continues to happen...it happened over 1000 years ago and it will continue 1000 years hence.

So what are you doing to prepare your organisation when strikes happen like...'strikes of...':

1. ...dishonesty amongst staff / suppliers / other
2. ...information leaking out of your company
3. ...flawed processes geared for the opportunist
4. ...lack of business continuity when your 'key people' defraud and leave you stranded
5. ...lack of knowledge about fraud (the old 'head in the sand' / won't happen to me / I trust my staff angle'

The iron is heating up...are you still in the kitchen?
